Owney O' More has one of the most striking warrior pedigrees in Irish warring history. Born into the dominant O' More clan, Owney was the son of Rory O' More, himself reputed to have orchestrated over fifteen rebellions against the english invaders. Most notably Rory declined to attend the meeting, at Mullaghmast in 1577 when a planned massacre of the Irish Tribal chieftains was prosecuted with ruthles savagery., Owney, then only a boy, saw his father lead reprisal raids sacking Kildare Town and burning the town of Naas. Owney's early education into warrior ways did not finish here, following ancient tradition, the young Owney was fostered to his uncle, Fiach McHugh O' Byrne of Wicklow, an infamous rebel leader who terrorised the english and ruled supreme in his native Wicklow. These formative years would undoubtedly determine that Owney O' More would not see old age nor peaceful life.
